The Editorial Board of the Swiss Journal of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine (SJORANM) currently comprises 41 Editors and Advisory Board Members from eleven countries. Together, they combine extensive scientific expertise with broad clinical experience and are responsible for maintaining the journal's scientific quality, editorial independence, and ethical standards.
Editorial Board members oversee the peer review process by evaluating submitted manuscripts, selecting qualified reviewers, assessing reviewer reports, and making editorial decisions. Prof. Dr. med. Gerd Nöldge is a renowned German radiologist and pioneer in interventional radiology. As former Senior Consultant at Heidelberg University Hospital, he made groundbreaking contributions to gastrointestinal artery embolization, for which he received the inaugural Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen Prize in 1985. He played a key role in advancing kyphoplasty techniques for osteoporotic vertebral fractures, providing long-term evidence for the efficacy and stability of calcium phosphate cement in vertebral body augmentation.
Prof. Nöldge has also significantly contributed to the clinical development and refinement of transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS) procedures, improving outcomes in patients with portal hypertension. His dedication to education and international collaboration has fostered enduring partnerships, including medical exchange programs with leading institutions in China.
As Founding Editor of the Swiss Journal of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, Prof. Nöldge played a decisive role in the establishment and early development of SJORANM. His distinguished academic record includes more than 170 scientific publications, the supervision of 47 doctoral theses and contributions to the International Encyclopedia of Pharmacology and eight pharmacology textbooks. He is an Honorary Academician of the Royal Academies of Medicine of Murcia and the Valencian Community.
His SJORANM contribution, Famous Poisonings in History, connects pharmacological science with medical history and reflects the breadth of his scholarship.

He studied dentistry, biology and medicine at Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel, earning a doctorate in dentistry (Dr. med. dent.) in 1985 and a medical doctorate (Dr. med.) in 1987. Following postdoctoral research at Loma Linda University, California, he joined the Department of Internal Medicine I, Endocrinology and Metabolism at Heidelberg University in 1990.
He qualified as a specialist in internal medicine in 1996, obtained his habilitation in internal medicine in 1997 and his subspecialty qualification in endocrinology and diabetology in 1998. In 2001, he became senior consultant and head of the endocrinology outpatient clinic and the newly established Osteology Section at Heidelberg University Hospital. He was appointed außerplanmäßiger Professor in 2004.
His clinical and scientific work focuses on calcium and bone metabolism, osteoporosis, hormonal disorders and diabetes. At Heidelberg, he helped establish kyphoplasty for painful vertebral fractures through interdisciplinary clinical and research collaboration. His international scientific activities have included chairing the NASA Bone Panel and membership of the European Space Agency's Life Science Advisory Board.
He worked at Hormon Zentrum Zürich AG in 2020–2021, at Endonet Basel in 2021–2023, and has been at Hormon Zentrum Zürich AG again since 2023. As Clinical Advisor in Internal Medicine & Endocrinology for SJORANM, he contributes expertise in endocrine and metabolic disease and its relationship to diagnostic imaging.

Prof. Dr. med. Aristomenis (Aris) K. Exadaktylos is an internationally recognized specialist in emergency and acute care medicine with extensive clinical, academic, and leadership experience. From 2013, he served for many years as Clinic Director and Chief Physician of the University Clinic for Emergency Medicine at Inselspital Bern. His academic career has included appointments and affiliations in Bern and at the University of Cyprus, including an adjunct role in Emergency Medicine.
His professional and scientific interests include emergency department management, interdisciplinary acute care, trauma and injury epidemiology, telemedicine and remote emergency care, digital health, process quality, and the application of innovative technologies in emergency medicine. His international training and professional experience span Switzerland, Germany, South Africa, Ireland, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
Prof. Exadaktylos has contributed extensively to the development of academic emergency medicine in Switzerland and internationally and has authored or co-authored numerous scientific publications across emergency medicine, trauma, acute care, digital medicine, and related interdisciplinary fields. Within the Clinical Advisory Board of SJORANM, he contributes expertise at the interface of emergency medicine, acute imaging, clinical decision-making, and emerging digital technologies.
