Author Guidelines

Article types

The following article types are considered for publication in SJORANM:

  • Original research articles
  • Reviews
  • Case reports
  • Letters and Communications

The following guidelines applies to all submitted article types.

Text

The entire document should be single-spaced and must contain page numbers in order to facilitate the review process. The text uses a 12-point font. Italics should be used instead of underlining (except with URL addresses).

Figures and Tables

Illustrations, figures, and tables locations are inserted within the text at the appropriate points with the notation e.g. "Figure 1 here". Illustrations/Figures/Tables and corresponding legends are inserted at the end of the document in order of appearance. Tables are introduced in .jpeg/.png format. For figures, only .jgep, .tiff, .png formats are allowed.

Authors

All names are listed together and separated by semicolons. Provide exact and correct author names, listed with surname(s) first, followed by a comma and name(s). Affiliations should be keyed to the author's name by numbers in brackets, sequentially ordered as they appear in the authors' list, and be listed as follows: Laboratory, Institute, Department, Organization, City, and Country (without detailed address information such as city zip codes or street names).

The Corresponding Author(s) should be marked with an asterisk. Provide the exact contact email address of the corresponding author(s) after the list of affiliations.

References

The citation style must be consistent. References are each numbered, ordered sequentially as they appear in the text, tables, boxes, figure legends. When cited in the text, reference numbers are in round brackets.

References should give authors, article title, journal name, journal issue and the year of publication in parentheses, followed by DOI if known.

Do not use linked fields (produced by EndNote and similar programs). Please use the one-click button provided by EndNote to remove EndNote codes before saving your file.

Conflict of interest Statement

Any conflict of interest issue must be included at the very end of the document.

Documents Anonymization

To ensure the integrity of anonymous peer-review, every effort should be made to prevent the identities of the authors and reviewers from being known to each other. This involves the authors, editors, and reviewers (who upload documents as part of their review) checking to see if the following steps have been taken with regard to the text and the file properties:

  • The authors of the document have deleted their names from the text, with "Author" and year used in the references and footnotes, instead of the authors' name, article title, etc.
  • The authors of the document have removed personal information from the file properties by taking the following steps:
    • Microsoft Word for Windows:
      • Go to File
      • Select Info
      • Click on Check for Issues
      • Click on Inspect Document
      • In the Document Inspector dialog box, select the check boxes to choose the type of hidden content that you want inspected.
      • Click Remove All
      • Click Close
      • Save the document
    • Microsoft Word for MacOS:
      • Go to Tools
      • Click Protect Document
      • Select Remove personal information for this file on save
      • Click OK and save the file
    • PDF:
      • Go to File
      • Select Properties
      • Remove any name in the author field
      • Click OK
      • Save the document
