The November 2026 issue of the Swiss Journal of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine focuses on the assessment of superficial soft-tissue lesions in early infancy. Boitsios, Chabot and Simoni describe bilateral precalcaneal congenital fibrolipomatous hamartomas in an eleven-week-old infant, illustrating the clinical presentation, characteristic ultrasound findings and relevant differential diagnoses. The case highlights the value of correlating imaging with clinical findings and recognising the limits of a clinical and sonographic diagnosis without histological confirmation or longitudinal follow-up.
