Vol. 35 No. 3 (2026)
This October 2026 issue focuses on inpatient CT scheduling and the relationship between clinical priority and access to imaging. Jayet, Rotzinger, Denys and Fahrni report a single-centre retrospective quality-control study of 1,341 CT examinations at Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV), Switzerland, following the introduction of a five-level priority system.
The study describes progressively longer calendar-day waiting intervals from P1 (immediate) to P5 (not urgent), with lower proportions of same-day examinations in the less urgent categories. These descriptive findings do not establish a causal improvement over the previous scheduling system or demonstrate clinical benefit. The article highlights the need for prospective evaluation, including patient outcomes and monitoring of delays in lower-priority examinations.
